| Plant Description | This tree ranges from small to medium in size, growing between 1 to 8 meters (3.5 to 26 feet) in height. Its bark has a mottled appearance, while the slender branchlets, measuring 10 to 20 centimeters (4 to 8 inches) in length, are finely pubescent rather than smooth and are typically deciduous. The simple, subsessile leaves are densely arranged along the branchlets, exhibiting a light green hue and a resemblance to pinnate leaves. The tree produces greenish-yellow flowers, followed by nearly spherical fruits that are light greenish-yellow, smooth, and firm, with six distinct vertical ridges or furrows. The fruit can grow up to 26 millimeters (1 inch) in diameter. While fruits from wild specimens typically weigh around 5.5 grams (0.2 ounces), cultivated varieties tend to be significantly heavier, averaging between 28.4 grams (1 ounce) and 56 grams (2 ounces). | ||
